SoundHound Review

SoundHound is a mobile app that’s used widely for identifying and tagging a tune that’s playing at the moment of speaking, or for recognizing a song sang or hummed by the user. SoundHound is available in a free version and an add-free upgrade – SoundHound ~ for US $5.99. SoundHound is present on the market since 2009. My focus in this post will be directed to the current version that I’m using – SoundHound 6.5.0b-29937 Android Version.

SoundHound is very easy to set-up, with simple and user-friendly but in my opinion kind of unattractive interface. Right after you install the app you can start singing, humming, or play a song for it to hear and [...]

Shazam Review: You want to know what is the song that’s playing?

Shazam is a mobile app that’s used widely for tagging or identifying a song that’s playing at the moment. The app has a free version and an upgrade called Shazam Encore that costs US $5.35. Shazam is present since 1999 and has changed and evolved a lot through the years. I won’t focus on it’s history, but on the current version that I’m using – Shazam 5.3.3 Android Version.

Shazam is pretty user-friendly, with simple and kind of cute interface and a very easy set-up. When you install Shazam on your device, the app asks you if you want to sign up with Shazam in order to receive your tags by email. This is optional since the app can be [...]

Review: Lovingly made in NYC & SF – Swarm by Foursquare

Swarm is the new app by Foursquare, the app where they moved the check-in feature. It’s an app that connects you with your friends and enables you to see who’s nearby or who wants to meet up later. The app is a result of the rebranding and renovating Foursquare. Foursquare split into two apps. Foursquare was the app that used to help you pick a place to go and help you keep up with friends, see where they’re checked-in or see a tip they left.

It seems like every user that loved Foursquare thinks of Swarm as an unnecessary confusion. Me for example, as a loyal longtime user, I still can’t get over the terrible decision they made to split Swarm off from [...]

Foursquare Review: The best app for finding your spot – lovingly made in NYC & SF

The app that used to tell the world where you are just by checking-in and by receiving mayorships on the venues, is now gone. The newest version of Foursquare split into two apps. The feature check-in was removed and added to the new app, the one that they actually forced the users to download – Swarm. As a loyal Foursquare user since 2011, I am still annoyed that my favorite check-in app renovated and rebranded itself.

Now that the check-in is dead, Foursquare is a whole other thing. It was planned as a big step forward, and it actually is, but is far from perfect and as a longtime user I can tell that it took me a lot of patience until I discovered its [...]
