Moldavian Airlines is an airline based in Chisinau, Moldova. It operates regular international services from Chisinau to various destinations in Europe. Its main airport is the International Airport of Chisinau.
It all started with regular flights between Chisinau and Moscow, while the airline started to operate daily flights to Moscow’s Domodedovo airport. It helped offer Moldovan passengers fast and terrific connections to the Siberian region and at that time this airport was famous for its Siberia-bound traffic.
Meeting the continuously growing demand of flights between Chisinau and Budapest, in 2003 the airline started operating the Saab 2000, a comfortable, accommodating, environmentally friendly, economical and state-of-the-art aircraft with both technical and operational qualities for up to 50 passengers.
Another important time in the airline’s history was the signing in December 2003 of the Code Share Agreement with Malev Hungarian Airlines on the route Chisinau-Budapest, thus making air communications between the two countries more attractive and making it easier to promote travel potential of both countries.
At present, the airline operates regular flights from Chisinau to Romania, Italy (Venice, Rome) and Turkey. Besides, charter flights are organized to different objectives, such as Bucharest, Debrecen, Antalya and Lisbon.
This airline also has cargo services. The airline’s airport-to-airport cargo service offers their customers simple and fast possibilities to transport their consignments on their regular flights to all its destinations. Their staff are accredited cargo agents by IATA/FIATA.
The airline accepts the carriage of your pet in standard boxes, which you should provide. You may carry your pet in the passenger cabin with you, you just need to book its flight.
Only small dogs and cats may be transported as cabin baggage, within the limits specified below.
Per passenger only one pet container is allowed.
So you are able to have your pet in the cabin with you, some maximum measurements are to be considered:
The container must not exceed H26xL50xW35 cm (H = height, L = length, W = width)
The weight of the container plus the animal must exceed more than 6 kg. If these dimensions and weight are exceeded, the animal cannot travel with you in the cabin; it will be transported in the cargo compartment.
There is a maximum quantity of pets allowed per flight: maximum 2 on a Saab 2000, maximum 4 on a Fokker 70/100, and maximum 6 on a Boeing 737.
Air Moldova is the flagship airline of the Republic of Moldova and operates to Eastern and Western Europe, but most of the upcoming expansion is focused on western markets. The airline has begun to focus on establishing Chisinau International Airport as an east-west transit hub and has increased year-round capacity on key routes including Bucharest, since 2011. The airline is rapidly growing and is expecting more passengers to discover it’s routes in the coming years.
